Flea Murder
Fleas ride in on pets and move into the carpet. Treating the home and the pet together is what works.
Signs you've got them
- Itchy bites around ankles and lower legs
- Pets scratching, biting or licking more than usual
- Tiny dark specks in pet bedding that turn reddish when wet
- Small jumping insects on carpet, rugs or furniture

How we handle it
We treat carpets, rugs, furniture, pet resting spots and baseboards, where flea eggs and larvae settle. Adult fleas are only part of the problem; most of the population is in the carpet as eggs and larvae.
Treating the home without treating the pet doesn't work, so get your pets on a flea treatment from your vet at the same time.
Before we arrive
Vacuum thoroughly, including under furniture, and empty the vacuum outside. Wash pet bedding. Pick up items from the floor so we can reach carpets. Pets and people need to stay out of treated areas until they're dry; we'll tell you how long.
Keep vacuuming
After treatment, vacuum daily for a couple of weeks. The vibration brings developing fleas out into the treated areas. It's normal to see some fleas for a short while as they hatch.
The 30-day window. If undue activity continues in the treated/offending area within 30 days of service, one touch-up to that area may be provided.
Questions about fleas
Why am I still seeing fleas after treatment?
Fleas in their cocoon stage are protected and hatch over the next couple of weeks. Keep vacuuming and they'll hit the treated surfaces.
Do I need to treat my pets too?
Yes. Talk to your vet about a flea product for your pets. Treating the home alone won't solve it.
Do fleas live in the yard?
They can, in shady, moist spots where pets rest. Yard War handles the outside.
